About SLC Circus Center

Our story

Salt Lake City Circus Center (formerly Root To Rise Studio of Farmington, UT) is reopening in an incredible space located within the historic Trolley Square Mall. They get keys this Fall, will put finishing touches on the space, and are building a state of the art rigging system with up to 13 rigs points at a single time! The anticipated opening is early 2025.

Bryan and Chantel Flanders spent the years of 2015-2023 running Root To Rise Studio at Station Park in Farmington. Market demand within the mall left them unable to stay in that space, and they’ve been working on finding a new home for the studio ever since. Over the past year, they came to realize the increased demand for circus arts within their studio and the community. Although the circus center will still offer yoga classes, it will no longer be a yoga studio, but a center focusing on all things circus! - aerial silks, hammock, lyra, straps and trapeze, partner acrobatic classes like AcroYoga, standing acrobatics, acro dance and cheer acro, as well as flexibility, tumbling and handstands classes! They are beyond excited to get renovating and bring their dreams of this past year and experience of the past 8 years to reality. You are going to be blown away by the Salt Lake City Circus Center! They can’t wait to see you there!

About
Bryan & Chantel

Founders & Owners

Bryan turned to yoga after a cancer scare, wanting to be healthier, and found a level of health never before known or expected. Bryan's three favorite things about teaching include being able to facilitate healing, bringing balance to one’s life, and seeing his students achieve their goals. Yoga has enhanced these activities by giving him increased balance, breath, strength and flexibility, which he strives to pass along in his classes. He became a teacher to give back what yoga has given him.

Along the way, he found AcroYoga and then Standing Acrobatics. Yoga is still his practice, but acrobatics has become his play. Not only does he love sharing his passion for this partner oriented skill set through teaching, but enjoys performing all over the country.

Students can expect a playful practice, whether yoga or acrobatics, with fun music, education on anatomy and proper alignment, class themes with takeaway thoughts and challenges, and a mix of different styles.

It was a dream come true to found and operate Root To Rise Studio in Farmington with his wife, Chantel, from 2015-2023. He's thrilled to again have a second home at Salt Lake City Circus Center, and hopes it can be that for you, too!

Chantel is thrilled by the classes offered at the circus center and the teachers that make them memorable. Behind the scenes, she helps run the center’s day to day tasks, marketing campaigns and is a certified AcroYoga instructor. She’s taken a liking to AcroYoga, Acro Dance and Standing Acrobatics, and Bryan (co-studio owner and husband) is her favorite base. They enjoy performing together and spend time doing AcroYoga and acrobatic photo shoots.

She’s no stranger to the stage, as she’s been a film and television actor in Utah since college. She’s also a full time real estate agent going on 19 years now with Century 21 Everest Realty Group.

Bryan and Chantel have an older, Allen, daughter Eleanor who's "just a baby," and one little doggie, Archimedes, who’s not really partial to AcroYoga, but sometimes is made to do it anyway. (You’ll occasionally spot him in their photo shoots.)

Acro Photo Reel

Bryan and Chantel LOVE taking acro photos, and the only thing they love more than a good photo session, is when the shoot takes place somewhere new... a new city, state, or better yet, country! Take a peek at some of their work from over the years. Like something you see? Go ahead and recreate it! Be sure to tag the circus center when you post it!
